Rational medical treatment in the modern age requires us to recognize the connection between the body, mind and spirit and their relationships to evidence-based science. Dr. Gould takes a whole person approach to providing medical care with the patient being an active part of the process.
Dr. Gould completed his undergraduate studies in pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He practiced pharmacy for several years prior to going to medical school. He graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at University of South Carolina School of Medicine/Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where he was the first DO chief resident in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Gould is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
He has been the medical director for the Lutheran Hospice -Midlands office since 2007.
Dr Gould is an assistant professor of Internal Medicine at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine- Carolinas campus and you will frequently find pre-med and medical students with him in the office.
He serves on the board of trustees of the South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society and is a member of the South Carolina chapter of the American College of Physicians Governors council He has been involved in health policy advocacy through SCOMS, ACP and on the public policy committee for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Dr Gould is proud to have attained fellow status in the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
