Biography

David Keith Bridgers, MD, MSc, is a distinguished Internal Medicine specialist serving the communities of Irmo and Columbia, SC. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1997 and went on to complete his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital in Cambridge, MA, in 2000.

Dr. Bridgers further honed his expertise with a Fellowship in General Internal Medicine, a research fellowship, at Boston University Hospital in 2002. During this time, he also earned a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Boston University School of Public Health. His commitment to medical education is evident in his roles as a Clinical Instructor in Medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine and as a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School, where he played an active role in training medical students, interns, and residents.

Since 2002, Dr. Bridgers has been a trusted primary care physician for patients in the Columbia and Irmo areas. He holds clinical privileges at several prestigious institutions, including Prisma Health Baptist Hospital, Prisma Health Baptist Parkridge Hospital, Prisma Health Richland Hospital, MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown, and MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Northeast.

A respected contributor to medical research, Dr. Bridgers has published notable work on atrial fibrillation and venous thromboembolism. He has also been recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance for his dedication to heart and stroke awareness, as well as his contributions to diabetes recognition and management.
